Diego Moreno is a charming and motivated paramedic, firefighter, and combat vet who served in Afghanistan. Now in Edgewater, he will be training Gabriela for her paramedic certification.[1]

Not much has so far been revealed about his past other than that he has a large family, something Gabriela likes. They met when she began training as a paramedic. At some point they began dating and on their anniversary, they both proposed marriage to each other.

While Bode is in prison, Diego and Gabriela meet when she begins her training as an EMT. Two months pass with Bode in prison before they began dating, and after five months of being together, they get engaged. On their wedding day Gabriela hesitates at her vows, unable to say "I do", before the wedding is interrupted by a helicopter crash. She later breaks up with Diego because she is still in love with Bode.
